Spring Gingham

This spring’s hottest print is GINGHAM. Most recognizable during the 1960’s housewife era, gingham is generally reserved for younger generations. But this spring you’ll notice gingham everywhere and on everyone. We’ve styled four ensembles with the print, for your referencing pleasure, to explore ready-to-wear options this spring.

  • Brunch with the Girls

As a mom it’s not every day that we have the opportunity to get glammed up and spend a few child free hours with our friends. Here, we’ve paired an original 60’s styled gingham dress with simple white ankle strap sandals, a light blue clutch, and pearl accessories. Remember, the dress is the statement here so the accessories can be pretty minimal.

  • Errands with the Kids

Running errands with kids in tow generally are a time-consuming and hectic situation. Here we’ve created a look where you can be totally comfortable and in season at the same time. Again, the pants are the statement piece and not much else is required for the look. Too many colors may become overwhelming. So generally the rule of thumb with gingham is to wear only one additional color.

  • All Work

Another spring 2015 trend is the power look- dark colored pieces with an emphasis on the waist. Here we paired a simple power dress with a more toned down gingham accent. Peep the shoes! In addition we kept the other accessories bold, yet simple. Cuffs are a great edgy accessory and perfect for moms with young children, as they aren’t noisy and enticing; which generally prompts them to grab or put in their mouth. However, we had to add personalized name plate necklace. Every mom loves to showcase their kid’s name!

  • Date Night

Gingham is transferable from day to night and casual to formal. We’ve created a sexy date night look with a sheer gingham shirt, paired with a lace camisole. Feel free to tie and knot the gingham shirt at the hip as you add your leather pleated skirt and white ankle strap sandals. To complete the look we’ve added a statement clutch, gold and pearl accessories, and red lipstick.
